Doug goes above and beyond the call of clean up. We needed him to clean a family members home that had fallen into disrepair due to illness. It was only when we were allowed bakc into the home that we realized the magnitude of what needed to be done, while being sensitive to our family members needs and requirements. Within minutes of his arriving, Doug assessed the situation (he even told me we didin't need his services) and based on his kindness and sensitivity to our needs , I knew he was the man for the job. As I live out of state, Doug sent pictures of the job when it was completed and the difference was beyond amazing. This is no ordinary clean up service but a service who cares. THANK YOU Doug!

Just wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for all you and the guys, and one girl :) have done for us. It was a no brainer asking you to help us out with the storage unit after you all did such an incredible job cleaning out the house. Today went so quickly and smoothly. Doug and his crew (Neil and Greg) were wonderful. Given that the process of cleaning and eliminating a family member's possessions is difficult and emotional, they made it easy and at times fun. I just wanted to relay an excellent experience I had with a clean-up company for an extremely difficult Collyers situation. I’ve personally used Maxon’s in the past but for this job, they referred me to Doug, the founder/owner of Island Trauma. They specialize in crime scenes and trauma cleanup, so they are used to super tough scenarios. Doug got back to me immediately both via email and on his cell. He was incredibly kind, patient and non-judgmental with my client, who really needed that. He came up with a very generous payment plan for her – a much better one than other places offered. He came out ASAP for a free estimate. His team is available 24/7. He offered to do the cleanup during nights, weekends, whenever we needed. His team did a fantastic job cleaning the place. It was truly the work of a superhero. His kindness and compassion alone would have made me want to recommend him, but the payment plan and the great job they did really put them over the top. Sometimes you just have such a positive experience with someone that you want to spread the word far and wide!

Island Trauma Services provided excellent, extremely professional, caring and compassionate service for my sister and I during a very difficult time. Our mother passed away in her home several weeks ago, and my sister and I were faced with cleaning things up as quickly as possible. We interviewed three different companies and decided on Island Trauma very quickly. We were so appreciative of how professional and informative Doug and Nils were when they came to look at the house, and give us an estimate. They showed up early the day of our appointment. They answered all of our questions, and provided us with information we didn’t even think of or know to ask for. We have never gone through anything like this before, and Island Trauma made it a very easy decision for us to choose them to help us. They were able to complete the remediation and cleanup in one day, where other companies told us it would take 3-4 days. The day of the cleanup, their crew showed up early, and got to work right away. They were all kind, compassionate and hard working. They made what was an extremely stressful situation a lot easier for us to deal with. The cleanup was completed at the exact time they promised, and everything went as we had hoped. I cannot say enough about what a wonderful job they did. I would not hesitate to use them again and I give them the highest recommendation.

My mother had a radiator pipe break in her living room that resulted in considerable water damage to her floor and carpet. The water also resulted in mold issues and warped the floor boards making her house uninhabitable. The problem was compounded by the fact that she is someone who saved and collected many items that she did not want to dispose of. She is currently eigthy nine years old. As such, the floor could not be repaired or recarpeted due to the fact that these items would be in the way of workmen who needed access to the area which was blocked by these items. Since my mother found it very difficult to part with the things that she had accumulated we did not know what to do. She stayed with my sister who lived a short distance away. However, this was difficult for my sister as her house was not set up to have an additional person living there as well a for my mother who wanted her independence. The job of removing the objects from my mother's house was too much for us to do. Since she did not want to simply dispose of everything we could not use standard junk removal companies. I then found Island Trauma after searching online for a company that help us. I spoke to Doug Baruchin there who understood the immediately understood situation. He went to meet with my mother who liked him after to listening his plan which he quickly came up with. He also informed us that the fees for his work should be covered under my mother's homeowners insurance which I was not aware of. I spoke with the claims adjustor and found out that he was correct. He went in and completed the project on schedule and my mother is now ready to have the floors repaired and recarpeted and resume living in her house which she has lived in for fifty nine years. I would recommend Island Trauma to anyone who needs its services. I also consider Doug Baruchin a friend after using him to the work. What he did was invaluable to my mother and those around her.

Hello Doug, Once again we would like to thank you and the people that work for your company. The jobs you undertake, might just seem like a nasty job that someone has to do, but it's truly so much more than that. Our trauma, thank heaven, was in no was as bad as it could have been. My sister..., was found in time to save her life and even with her amputation, she is getting stronger every day. Her recovery, in part, was do to the fact that she could focus on her health battle and know that you and your team would take care of the house battle. I will never be able to thank you enough. With me living in ... and my sister living in New York, with very limited funds, I thought I was asking the impossible. Here we are, a couple of months later and all I can say is, WOW and thank you for the compassion you've shown me during this time. You'll always be in my prayers, for being there when I reached out for help.

Island Trauma Services (ITS) is a company that truly understands the importance of customer service and business integrity. I quickly discovered these qualities in this company when my wife’s aunt passed away last June. Never in my wildest dreams did I believe I would be making a phone call to a company that would assist my family with a death cleanup. Luckily, the person on the other end of the line was Doug B., the owner of Island Trauma Services. One of Doug’s many strengths is his sensitive and caring nature when dealing with people who just lost a loved one. This is a time when people are in shock and somewhat vulnerable with regards to the proper protocol and costs involved in these types of cleanups. Doug and his technicians were compassionate, professional and helped us to overcome a very tough time in our lives. Doug met us at the house the day I contacted him, and literally handled us with kid gloves to help us cope with a tough cleanup scene as well as the pain from our loss. He knew we were struggling and seemed more concerned with our well-being than trying to “close the deal!” He thoroughly explained his estimate for the cleanup and encouraged me to obtain more estimates from other companies. Obviously, my wife and I decided to hire ITS and could not have been happier with the service provided at the house and, more importantly, the compassionate and kind mannerisms of the people who dealt with us. Surprisingly, at the conclusion of the job, Doug informed me that the cleanup took less time than his original estimate stated and that he would be adjusting the bill. Not only did Doug stay true to his word about the bill, but he followed up with us for a few months after to see how we were faring. In this day and age, it is rare to find a company that is based on such old fashion principles – compassion, honesty, and quality service!
